One of the problems with CRB's is that many potential carers from overseas do not have a CRB that domiciliary care agencies can look at prior to offering a person a job interview. The agencies will automatically apply for a current CRB but this will only be effective from the time the potential carer domiciled in the UK.
Now however, it is possible for potential carers from Turkey to obtain a copy of their CRB from the Public Prosecutors Office in the area in which they lived or apply to the General Directorate for Criminal Records in Ankara or to any Turkey Consulates if they are abroad.
Simply speaking, if you wish to offer work to a person from Turkey it is now reasonable and appropriate to ask them to obtain a CRB in order for you to look at prior to offering them an interview/work. The process for applications made in Turkey is that they are processed on the day of request and returned the same day. Applications made from the UK are likely to take two months starting from the day of receipt and will be returned to the applicant by post.

Eleven major umbrella bodies for adult care providers in England have got together in order to give providers a stronger voice in the development of personalisation*.
The Care Providers Alliance represents providers across residential, nursing, domiciliary care and adult placements, the private and voluntary sectors, services for older and disabled people and those with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
Des Kelly, executive director of voluntary sector care umbrella body the National Care Forum, has been appointed chair. He said: "It is essential that care providers are regarded as equal partners alongside commissioners and people receiving services."

Annually in the UK approx. 4000 people die in accidents in the home. 2.7 million people go to Accident and Emergency departments seeking treatment.The Axis Partnership have announced that three health care providers have gone "under offer" in recent weeks.
