This will also take into account representations to the D of H from sexual health professionals seeking clarification of the circumstances when they may need to disclose confidential information, including about a patients HIV status, both with and without the patient's consent. This is important in the provision of effective care for a person, as without full knowledge of a person’s health conditions, appropriate care can be jeopardised. Care agencies are familiar with situations where, full health conditions are not disclosed, due to patient confidentiality. This has caused problems.
