Client Profile - Cerebral Palsy Veronica, aged 27 has Cerebral Palsy. Veronica is a wheelchair user and has speech loss. She wanted to live in her own home and to be as independent as possible so she decided that a Live-in Carer Scheme from Able Community Care would give her the independence she sought. Care from Able Community Care began for Veronica in Spring 1999 and has been continuous ever since. Veronica lives in London
Client Profile - Stroke Ethel is 84 and suffered a stroke resulting in a left side paralysis. Ethel has a lovely home which she did not want to leave. Her family decided therefore that a Live-in Carer Scheme may be the answer. The first Carer went in to Ethel’s home in September 2002 and a rota of liked carers has been established. Ethel lives in The Channel Islands.
Client Profile - Acquired Head Injury Kate has an acquired head injury as a result of a road accident and is wheelchair dependent. Kate requires help with all personal and domestic care. A Live-in Care Scheme began for Kate in October 1996 and cover has been continuous since that time. Kate lives in Kent.
Client Profile - Multiple Sclerosis Nora, aged 50 has Multiple Sclerosis. In the Summer of 1998 it became impossible for Nora to live in her bungalow on her own as she required help throughout the day and night. Able Community Care provided a Live-in Carer package for her which has continued for the last five years. Nora lives in the West Midlands.
Client Profile - Huntingdon's Disease Stephen is in his fifties and has Huntingdon's Disease. Stephen requires help with every aspect of his life so a Live-in Carer Scheme was put in place by Able Community Care in 1997. Care has been continuous since that time. Stephen lives in The Home Counties.

Client Profile - Motor Neurone Disease Noreen is aged 88 and has Motor Neurone Disease. Married to her husband for over 60 years they both want to stay in their own home. Help with personal care for Noreen is total and Carers also carry out the domestic work in their home. Care has been provided by Able Community Care since January 2001. Noreen lives in Middlesex.
Client Profile - Downs Syndrome Trevor has good general health but a learning disability due to Downs Syndrome. Living in his own home has been achieved by having support from Live-in Carers since April 2002. Trevor lives in Lincolnshire.
Client Profile - Learning Difficulies/Amputee Tina, in her thirties has a learning difficulty and legs and arm amputations as a result of meningitis. Living in her own home she has Able Community Care providing her with a system of Live-in Carers who work with other organisations to support Tina in her own home.
