As an alternative to residential care, consider the option of live-in home care in Guernsey for elderly or disabled people.

Guernsey is one of The Channel Islands and has a population of approximately 61,700 people, with approximately 7,250 of the population being over the age of seventy years.

For many years the Island has had a low unemployment rate; in 2008 it was under 1% and therefore, for many trades and services, the skills and service provision has to come from mainland UK.

An example of this is when people in the older age range or people with disabilities have high dependency care needs, i.e. people who are in a position where if they were left for any period of time, they would be at risk of possible harm, need to seek the services of care staff to enable them to remain in their own home and community.

At such a time a live-in care worker scheme can often be the solution to maintaing independence and enabling you to remain in your own home and community.

Live in care workers can help with all your domestic work, support you with any personal care needs you may have and have the time to help you with what might have become an unwelcome, reduced, social life.

Able Community Care, based in Norwich, has been providing live in care staff in Guernsey for many years. A live-in care worker will come to work in your home for approximately one month at a time and it is our intention to provide each person with two or three, liked care workers who will return on a rotational basis.

Able Community Care began in 1980 and full company details, an application form and further care information can be found here on our website.

If you would like to speak to us in person please telephone to 01603 764567.

For a brochure about the live-in care services provided by Able Community Care please either click here and submit your request online, email to Ablemg@aol.com or telephone Judith Tye on 01603 764567.
