Backissues...
In the current spell of snow and icy roads (early January 2010), many older and disabled people are worried that their hourly carers will not be able to get to them because of the icy conditions on the roads. In some areas snow drifts are preventing anything moving and many side roads are not gritted or cleared of snow and just have to wait for nature to take its course.

The present spell of cold weather is expected to continue for the rest of January 2010 and therefore the problems of care staff not arriving on time or even at all will be ongoing.

Having a live-in care scheme means that such problems do not arise. A live-in carer in your home has to wait until their replacement care worker arrives thereby ensuring that a vulnerable person is never left on their own.

Maintaining a continuous live-in home care service in the winter weather can still be logistically challenging, but having well-organised teams of carers and care managers enables us to adapt to such circumstances as they arise.

Able Community Care has been providing long term and respite live-in care schemes since 1980 and our services are available on a nationwide basis.

If you would like an information pack about the care we can provide to you or a relative or friend please either click here and submit your request online, email to Ablemg@aol.com or telephone Judy Tye on 01603 764567.
